Carlos Sainz Caccia

Carlos Sainz Caccia believes that successful urban planning involves the creation and pursuit of a shared vision between all the different stakeholders. He is convinced that successful urban development should always put people at the center while balancing a diverse (and often competing) array of interests from different sectors of a community.

Before joining CivicMoxie, Carlos worked for several years at an architecture and urbanism firm in Mexico, managing urban design and planning projects, and as a consultant to several public dependencies from Mexico City and Guadalajara. As a graduate student at MIT, he collaborated on transit-oriented development projects in Mexico, industrial urbanism research in Israel among other projects. He focused his masters research on the role of public space in the construction of community and the intersection between public space, urban design, and public transit systems.

Carlos holds a Bachelor in Architecture form ITESO University in Guadalajara, Mexico and a Master in City Planning with a Certificate in Urban Design from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Department of Urban Studies and Planning.
