Sue Kim is a Senior Planner/Project Manager at CivicMoxie who adds city planning, development, and project management experience to the team. She has worked in the public sector and as a planning consultant for a wide range of projects throughout several diverse communities and cities.
As a senior planner at the Boston Redevelopment Authority (BRA) for many years, Sue was the neighborhood planner for Chinatown, the Leather District, and the Midtown Cultural District, leading and managing multi-lingual land use planning and park design processes, public land disposition processes, development review, and rezoning efforts. She also managed planning processes in other Boston neighborhoods, as well as the APA-award winning Civic Vision for Turnpike Air Rights in Boston.
As a planning consultant, Sue worked on a master plan in Somerville, MA and a HOPE VI project in Decatur, IL as a senior planner at Goody, Clancy & Associates. During her time in the Chicago, Sue assisted in data collection and analysis for Tax Increment Finance projects in and around the city for Camiros, Ltd.
Most recently as a development manager in the Massachusetts Port Authority’s (MassPort) Real Estate & Asset Management Department, Sue prepared and was managing the Request for Proposals and submission review process for the Massport Marine Terminal site, supporting the seafood and maritime industries in South Boston. She was also the lead for a multi-parcel land exchange process between Massport and the U.S. Army.
Sue has a Master’s degree in Urban Planning from the University of Michigan, a Bachelor of Science degree in Art and Design from MIT, and is AICP-certified.
